About DiscoStink and WOOM Creative

Our background…

At DiscoStink, our background is in graphic design (see below – woom creative) and has been since the year 2000. Recently we’ve decided to move into screen printing and start printing t-shirts. Our strong design background, we feel, gives us an edge as it’s ultimately the design which will sell a t-shirt.

Individuality, not mass produced…

DiscoStink was created out of the frustration of the choice of the mass produced t-shirts on the high street. Personally, I’d like to leave the house knowing that I wasn’t going to bump into someone else who had the same t-shirt as me. It has happened to me and I’m guessing I’m not the only one.

Where we’re from and who we service…

DiscoStink is a screen printer based in Bury, Lancashire but thanks to the wonder of the internet and email, we can design, print and dispatch the t-shirts to anywhere in the world…the wonders of technolgy, hey!

We print under our brand name but we will happily print t-shirts for anyone that doesn’t want to include anything that relates to DiscoStink. So, if you have an idea or design we can do the printing and you can move the t-shirts on yourself.

Big heart, huge ambition…

We’re a small company but we have a big heart and huge ambition and with our service, we’re only too happy to answer any questions you may have or any quotes you may request.

WOOM Creative…

WOOM Creative started back in 2001, where we were originally known as Pandora Graphics. Our logo at the time was a blue box with three different sized circles within in it – Nick Tonge designed the logo back in his days at college without really knowing at the time what the logo would be used for. The studio at Pandora Graphics was based on Dumers Lane in Radcliffe along the River Irwell. It’s from here that our vast knowledge of hot foil printing helped push the company forward and where we were able to use our knowledge in new areas of design.

In 2005 and following a few changes within the company we changed our name to WOOM Creative following the passing of our Managing Director.

So… where did the name WOOM Creative come from?

WOOM Creative came about while playing with words and letters to form a basic ambigram. This was influenced by ‘Angels & Demons‘ – the book by Dan Brown – and the Illuminati who were the secret brotherhood at the heart of the book’s plot which use several ambigrams. The ambigrams in the book were created by real-life typographer John Langdon.

WOOM Creative is now run by Nick Tonge and has been since 2006. It’s during 2006 that the company moved from it’s premises in Radcliffe and moved to a home based studio. Our outlook has remained the same and we work hard on customer service, making sure we hit tight deadlines and helping out any customers that need any help or assistance. We may be a small company, but we like to think that it’s a more personal experience due to our size.
